Garmin Expands GFC 500 Autopilot STC Coverage to Additional Airframes
New supplemental type certificates bring digital autopilot capability to Beechcraft Bonanza and Mooney M20 series

Garmin International has announced expanded STC coverage for its popular GFC 500 digital autopilot system, adding approved installations for the Beechcraft Bonanza 33/35/36 series and Mooney M20J/M20K aircraft. The expansion brings Garmin's modern autopilot technology to a broader range of the general aviation fleet.
The GFC 500 autopilot is a two-axis digital system offering GPS steering, altitude hold, vertical speed, indicated airspeed hold, and flight level change modes. When paired with a Garmin navigator such as the GTN 650Xi or GTN 750Xi, pilots gain fully coupled approach capability including LPV approaches to near-Category I minimums.
Roger Wilco Aviation Services, an authorized Garmin dealer and FAA-certificated repair station, is now scheduling GFC 500 installations for these newly approved airframes. The shop has completed multiple GFC 500 installs on Cessna and Piper airframes and brings the same level of expertise to the Beechcraft and Mooney platforms.
Owners interested in upgrading should contact RWAS at (605) 299-8178 to discuss their specific aircraft configuration, estimated installation timeline, and financing options through the RWAS equipment financing program.
